It’s the most wonderful time of the year. And no, we aren’t talking about the holiday season. Pantone Color Institute, authority on all things color, has finally announced its 2017 Color of the Year.

We are ecstatic about this hue and fully agree it’s going to make a big splash in the coming year. It’s calming, it’s earthy and it’s vibrant. The 2017 color of the year is Pantone “Greenery.”

Towards the end of each year, 10-20 contributors at the Pantone Color Institute comb the worlds of fashion, design, lifestyle and more to find global trends and influences of color. The color they select is the one they feel is gaining in popularity and symbolizes the state of humanity.

“A fresh and zesty yellow-green shade signaling the first sign of spring, Pantone 15-0343 Greenery conveys our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize,” states Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Bursting forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a complex social and political environment, Pantone Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

When discussing their reasoning behind the choice, the team explained that as more people are submerged in modern day life, surrounded by technology and work, their want to disconnect and dive into the natural beauty and unity of the world becomes a greater desire.

The statement continues, “Through its reassuring yet assertive vibrancy, Greenery gives us the confidence to pursue our personal passions and live life on our own terms, redefining what makes us successful and happy.”

For us, this color represents creativity and passion. It’s calming nature is sure to bring ease to any office or home space and even when you carry it with you in your fashion choices.
