Roll out the red carpet and bring on the paparazzi, because Agenda for Children is here to show you how to make a ‘do work for you. On Dec. 8, the group hosted its annual benefit which coincides with a show at the Saenger Theatre. This year’s hot show? “Hairspray.” But before Agenda supporters got to the show, there was a patron party around the corner at the New Orleans Athletic Club, where food from Southern Hospitality Catering and cocktails were served. About $36,000 was raised for Agenda, which since 1984 has been an advocate for the state’s children. The group helps through various programs such as Shield, which provides information and education to children, parents and professionals about child abuse and violence prevention. •
