NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Due to the widespread impact of Hurricane Ida and COVID-19 across Louisiana, Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do scheduled to be held on Friday, Sept. 17, is rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 28. Audubon will continue to monitor these community impacts to determine how to safely host Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do.

“Both Hancock Whitney and Audubon are focused right now on helping our local communities get back up and running,” said Hancock Whitney Senior Regional President Gary Lorio. “We look forward to celebrating again at the end of October once we are further along in the recovery efforts.”

Audubon Nature Institute also rescheduled Zoo-To-Do for Kids presented by Children’s Hospital New Orleans until Friday, November 12. Zoo-To-Do for Kids presented by Children’s Hospital New Orleans was originally scheduled to be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Audubon Zoo.

Tickets purchased for the originally scheduled events will be transferred to the new event dates.

While recent events have closed our facilities and cancelled events, we are committed to the well-being of your animals and our community’s successful recovery,” said Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman. “We look forward to welcoming supporters to our mission-focused fundraisers, but at this time rescheduling these events is the right thing to do. Our hearts go out to our community members, and we will continue to strive to make our community and world a better place.”

Funds raised from Zoo-To-Do events support critical operations, including caring for animals during this difficult time. The 2021 Zoo-To-Do events celebrate Audubon’s conservation efforts for whooping cranes, an endangered species that neared extinction in the 1940s. Audubon has long been a leader in conservation of these majestic birds and continues to work on their behalf through the Alliance for Sustainable Wildlife, Audubon’s conservation breeding partnership with San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.
