June 29 Whole Foods Market at 5600 Magazine Street is hosting a Community Giving Day for Officer Andres Gonzalez. Whole Food will donate 5% of the day’s net sales to the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation Andres Gonzalez Fund. Officer Gonzalez was critically wounded after a routine traffic stop at Algiers Point. Officer Gonzalez, a five-year veteran of the department, was shot twice in the face and once in the chest.
