Happy Hour Just Got Easier

We are always looking for fun ways to imbibe in New Orleans. Many places have sent us invitations to their festive events. We want to share them with you, so you can get in on the action too. Here are a few fun things happening in the city where you can sit back, enjoy and sip to your hearts content.

Martin Wine Cellar (3827 Baronne St.) – Festival Del Vino is kicking off Saturday, Feb. 2 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Here you can taste more than 20 different wines for only $20. It’s the third event of its kind and it celebrates the amazing wines of Spain by sipping through some of the best reds, whites, rosés and even sparkling wines. Grab your tickets and head on over to enjoy a taste of Spain, right here in the Crescent City.

Pearl Wine Co. (3700 Orleans Ave) is doing wine education. If you’re not busy Wednesday, Jan. 30 or Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m., it would be a nice time to visit. Pearl is introducing a series of educational classes to teach you the basics of wine, starting with sparkling wine, wines of France and wines of Spain. Sessions are led by their in-house sommelier Jake Kokemor. If you want to expand your knowledge of wine and wine making methods, this is the event for you. The fun doesn’t stop there, as Pearl is also offering a Free Thursday tasting on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. They will be pouring some of their favorites from Burgundy, Rhone Valley and Beaujolais. It promises to be full of fun with live music and some snacks.

Bar Tonique (820 Rampart St.) always has a great happy hour weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to their daily specials, they offer $5 cocktails which include, the Aviation, Frenchmen’s Dark & Stormy, Moscow Mule, Whiskey Old Fashioned, Pimm’s Cup and Sazerac. This is a great place for great cocktails. If you don’t see what you like on the menu, just ask the bartender for more features and specials. It’s a fun bar with an amazing bar program. Who Dat say happy hour can't start at noon?

Looking ahead, we urge you to mark your calendar for the third annual Top Taco celebration featuring tequila and beer. It will be held at Woldenberg Riverfront Park on Thursday, March 14 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Early bird tickets are available now.

These are, of course, just a few events happening around town. If you know of some fun cocktail inspired functions, let us know so we can check them out and share them with cocktail lovers everywhere.
