NEW ORLEANS (press release) – School’s out, and rides are in for summer. Carousel Gardens Amusement Park – featuring 18 attractions, two cafés, and excitement for all ages – kicks off summer savings Memorial Day Weekend with a limited-time offer of free single-day admission for U.S. military members and extends its operating hours for the summer season starting May 31. Guests will be able to enjoy the local landmark Tuesdays-Thursdays from 11am-4:30pm and weekends from 11am-8pm.
City Park Conservancy is showing appreciation to all members of the U.S. military by offering free tickets to the Amusement Park and Storyland from Saturday, May 27 to Monday, May 29. This offer extends to active, retired, veteran, reserve, and National Guard members. Additionally, they have the option to purchase up to six discounted tickets for their loved ones to enjoy during the weekend. Military members must book their tickets in advance and present valid U.S. military ID at the front gate.
“Having such a beloved treasure in our backyard is something we take great pride in and want as many New Orleanians as possible to experience,” said City Park Conservancy Director of Recreational Services Waymon Morris. “We are so excited to swing into summer by giving recognition to our military members. We’re hoping that everyone in the community will take advantage of this great opportunity to have a blast and enjoy a staycation with their nearest and dearest.”
Starting Wednesday, May 31, weekdays – or Summer Saver Days – at Carousel Gardens will include a lineup of Amusement Park classics at a reduced rate. Guests can experience the iconic Ladybug Rollercoaster, Umbrella Cars, Historic Wooden Carousel, City Park Train plus Storyland for just $15. Weekends will feature the full slate of slides and rides for $25 per person; $15 per chaperone/senior. Further discounts are available for Friends of City Park members; admission is free for Carousel Gardens Season Passholders and people under 36”.
