New Orleans cycling enthusiasts put on their best spandex Saturday, April 12, for Tour de Lis, a charity bike ride to raise funds for cancer prevention and treatment.
The “Healin’ through Wheelin’” event led cyclists on a 9-mile Lakefront route around Lakeshore Drive. The Tour de Lis attracted 500 cyclists and trial cyclists from around the country. While the main ride took place from 8 a.m. to noon, Tour de Lis also included individual time trials from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The individual time trials even took place on a portion of the 2009 Ironman course.
