Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington recently installed the Signa HDxt Twin Speed Magnetic Resonance Imaging system, which provides improved image clarity and enhances clinical applications beyond the limits of a conventional MRI scanner. The increased speed of the new system helps shorten exam times and it offers the ability to perform cardiac MRI with stress testing, which allows cardiac physicians to characterize blood vessels, cardiac valve function and cardiac tissue for planning throughout a treatment plan. It is the first system of this kind in the state of Louisiana.
