Heaven’s Pets at Lake Lawn Metairie Holds 9th Annual Blessing of the Pets

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Heaven’s Pets at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery will hold the 9th Annual Blessing of the Pets to celebrate the lives of our beloved animals both past and present. Pastor Bonnie Poirier will conduct a blessing for the animals at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery. All animals and their loved ones are encouraged to attend. The services are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served and pet rescue groups will be on site for adoptions.

The Blessing of the Pets is a worldwide and nearly 800-year-old tradition, which originated from St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, to recognize and bless animals as precious creations in God’s eyes.
