If there’s one thing Tulane University affiliates are known for, it’s for their capability to have a “helluva” good time, any time. This year’s 10th annual “Helluva Hullabaloo” auction and party hosted by co-chairs Jill and Avie Glazer and Maria and Andrew Wisdom was no exception. The auction, held on October 21 in the university’s own Lavin-Bernick Center, was hosted by WVUE-TV’s anchor and chief and investigative reporter, Lee Zurik.
Over 550 guests took over the LBC for the evening, where a full bar and cocktail buffet provided by Toulouse Gourmet Catering greeted them upon arrival. Host Lee Zurik guided guests throughout the evening of food, fun and bidding. Some of the unique auction items that sparked enthusiasm in attendees included a dinner at the Palm Steakhouse in Washington, D.C. with Professor James Carville, Mary Matalin and Cathy and Walter Isaacson, U.S. Open box seats, a week in a French vacation home and a tour of the National Archives with Emmy Award-winning journalist and best selling author Cokie Roberts.
Together with the contributions of over 2,500 Tulane University alumni, parents and Green Wave fans, participants raised over $500,000 benefiting the community initiative known as Tulane Empowers and scholarships for Tulane’s student-athletes.
