NEW ORLEANS (press release) – A letter from the Audubon Nature Institute president and CEO L. Ronald Forman.

Audubon Family,

As a non-profit, Audubon Nature Institute relies on ticket sales, events, and donations to support our mission of protecting the wonders of nature and sharing them with you. While our doors are closed to help stop the spread of COVID-19, Audubon’s dedicated staff continue to provide outstanding care for the animals and parks you love.

The recently passed CARES Act was a tremendous effort to support those individuals and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The legislation does not, however, include any forgivable assistance for zoo’s, aquariums, and museums that employ more than 500 people, such as Audubon. It is critical that larger nonprofits are considered and included in upcoming legislation so that they can continue supporting our local, state, and regional communities and economies.

I have sent a letter to Congress emphasizing the importance of non-profits like ours to our city and our country’s economy and asking that we be included in COVID-19 federal relief.

I ask you to do the same today. Please click below to send a letter to your representatives and make your voice heard. It will only take a small moment, but it will have a big impact on Audubon’s–and our community’s-future.

Help Audubon Receive Emergency Aid

Thank you for your continued support during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Ron Forman
