Higgins Hotel in New Orleans Reinvents its “Garden to Glass” Cocktails

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center is excited to announce a fresh take on luxury and mixology with the introduction of its updated Garden to Glass cocktail selection and Happy Hour offerings at Kilroy’s Bar & Lounge.

Aligned with the celebrated Garden to Glass Festival at The National WWII Museum, Kilroy’s will showcase a newly revamped selection of Garden to Glass cocktails starting now, running through the festival period in late August and September. This initiative invites cocktail enthusiasts to explore flavors crafted from historical inspirations and modern mixology techniques.

Rooted in a shared mission with The National WWII Museum, the Higgins Hotel is dedicated to recounting the American experience in the pivotal war that shaped the world. By delving into why it was fought, how victory was achieved, and its enduring significance today, the hotel and museum aim to ensure that every generation comprehends the true cost of freedom and finds inspiration in the lessons learned.

The Garden to Glass Festival inspired the Higgins mixologist to create the most innovative drink using ingredients reminiscent of WWII-era Victory Gardens. This initiative invites cocktail enthusiasts to explore flavors crafted from historical inspirations and modern mixology techniques.

The 2024 Garden to Glass Cocktail Menu at Kilroy’s includes:

Cucumber Watermelon Martini

Vodka, aperitivo, fresh watermelon, cucumber, and elderflower liqueur

Blues Cat #7

Jalapeno-infused Reposado Tequila, blueberry sherbet, blue curacao, Cointreau, lime juice, and agave

Blood Orange Sour

Rye whiskey, cardamom, cloves, blood orange reduction, and lemon juice

East India Yacht Club

Coconut fat-washed pot-still rum, gold rum, aged rum, pandan, apricot, and lime juice

SugarHill Lemonade

Gin, gunpowder tea, salted pistachio, honey, jasmine, nutmeg, and lemon juice

These distinctive cocktails are a nod to both the creativity of past festival participants and the innovative spirit of the upcoming Garden to Glass Festival, making Kilroy’s the perfect place for a preview of this year’s competition.

From crab beignets to oyster po-boys, Kilroy’s Bar & Lounge inside the Higgins Hotel & Conference Center is a sophisticated lobby-level bar and lounge offering a casual menu of cocktails, bar bites, and shareable plates with a distinctly Southern accent. Grab a seat at the bar or duck into a cozy banquette for late afternoon-into-evening drinks and dining. Kilroy’s is open Friday – Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Monday – Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Easy, affordable self-parking is available in The WWII Museum garage, located just past the hotel entrance.
