The 36th Annual Preservation Resource Center’s “Holiday Home Tour” patron party took place on Friday, December 9. The tour itself took place on Saturday, December 10, and Sunday, December 11. While the patron party was held in a home of “friends of the PRC,” the tour took to the streets of the Garden District to showcase homes that were elaborately decorated for the holiday season. Event chairs Jeanne Bourgeois and Callie Daters ensured that everyone enjoyed the annual event.
Home tourists could set their own pace as they strolled about the seven featured homes located around the Garden District, from St. Charles Avenue to Prytania Street to Camp Street, while listening to the seasonal sounds of local musicians. The tour also featured a bonus tour location at The Louise S. McGehee School on Prytania Street. A holiday boutique featuring such vendors as The Occasional Wife and Two Sprouts and a café catered by Palate New Orleans were stationed at the tour headquarters in Trinity Episcopal Church on Jackson Avenue.
The proceeds of the event went to continuing the Preservation Resource Center’s mission. Since 1974 the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans has dedicated itself to preserving, restoring, and revitalizing historic homes and neighborhoods in New Orleans and its surrounding areas.
