Historic New Orleans Collection Community Day to Celebrate Vietnamese Culture

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – To celebrate the opening of “Making It Home: From Vietnam to New Orleans,” The Historic New Orleans Collection (HNOC) is hosting a Community Day. This family-friendly day includes story time and live performances of the new exhibition, which tell the story of Vietnamese migration to New Orleans.

The Shop at the Collection will have items featuring traditional Vietnamese iconography, local art created by Vietnamese makers, and a pop-up “vending machine” with mini prints depicting Vietnamese cultural elements.

The Café will feature menu items from Dough Nguyener’s throughout the month of April, including specials made with groceries from Veggi Farmers Cooperative in New Orleans East, a Vietnamese-run farm.
