We always advocate for a good date night at “Let Them Eat Cake.” After the year we’ve all had, it’s important to check in with your spouse-to-be and add a little fun into the mix. As the city begins to loosen coronavirus restrictions, more events are popping up around New Orleans.
An event that caught our eyes is a dinner offering at the Higgins Hotel as part of the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE). On June 23, at 7 p.m., guests can get a five-course dinner featuring wines from Orin Swift and a menu crafted by the new Higgins Hotel & Conference Center executive chef Virgile Brandel at Café Normandie.
The dinner includes Orin Swift “Blank Stare” Sauvignon Blanc, the Mannequin Chardonnay and the Palermo Cabernet Sauvignon. These selected wines will pair with menu items like Gulf oysters and Louisiana kumquat chutney, crawfish and blue crab stuffed zucchini blossoms and trout Colbert and braised apple beef cheeks.
The tables are set for four, but the hotel is also offering tables of six or eight for those interested on inviting their bridal party for a full celebration. Tickets start at $125 and must be purchased through Eventbrite here.
