The Preservation Resource Center held its 34th annual Julia Jump fundraiser on April 8 at The Roosevelt New Orleans. The event kicked off with a patron party an hour-and-a-half before the main event. Patrons were allowed to get a sneak preview of the silent auction items and enjoy the music of New Orleans Banjos +2.
Once the rest of the attendees arrived, Bobby J. and the Stuff Like That took to the stage. Guests enjoyed food from 19 different vendors including places such as Commander’s Palace, Galatoire’s, Mother’s Restaurant and Whole Foods Market. Items up for auction included a signed basketball from New Orleans Hornets star Chris Paul, lithograph football signed by the New Orleans Saints football team and a cleat autographed by Super Bowl XLIV MVP Drew Brees. Chairs Sarah Feirn and Caroline Kearney put on a lavish affair for 400 people and raised more than $155,000 for the center.
The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans is dedicated to preserving and restoring the culture and architecture of the Crescent City’s historical homes and neighborhoods. Since Hurricane Katrina, the group has restored more than 300 homes with a value of more than $10 million.
