NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The historic Beauregard-Keyes House is the perfect setting for bringing the old and the new together this holiday season with a variety of events beginning mid-December. Reservations are required for all events and may be made at bkhouse.org.
Annual Holiday Doll Tea Party: Saturday, December 11, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
A favorite for more than 20 years, children are invited to bring their dolls to a special tea, featuring several dolls from Frances Parkinson-Keyes’ private collection. The party includes storytelling, crafts, snacks and fun, and a visit from a surprise guest. Space is limited; tickets are required for each child and adult. Admission: $20
The Café Brulot: Wednesday, December 15, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Local author Sue Strachan discusses her book, examining the cocktail that was born of a legend and that has endured through the centuries. The lecture is followed by a demonstration of how the cocktail is made by Charles Carter of Antoine’s Restaurant. A complimentary tasting is included. Admission: $15
A Not So Silent Night Holiday Concert with Bon Operatit! Saturday, December 18, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This dynamic New Orleans Opera Quartet performed to a sold-out audience at the BK House in June and is returning by popular demand, presenting a mix of classic holiday favorites, opera and musical hits, and a Christmas carol singalong. Refreshments and holiday treats will be available, and attendees are also encouraged to bring their own beverages. Admission: $40
The Beauregard-Keyes House will also be joining other French Quarter Museums for the FQMA Holiday Market from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on December 18 for those who want to shop local and take home a holiday treasure.
