The next time you pick up lunch at Martin’s Wine Cellar, consider tacking on a little holiday shopping. On a recent trip to pick up a Sena Salad, I looked around and realized I was in, not just a deli and wine shop, but a veritable gift emporium for adults! I usually blow in and out so quickly for a sandwich/salad and my husband does the alcohol runs, so I’d never actually wandered freely through the aisles. This very welcome additional time was eye opening! Who knew there was a strawberry and lemongrass vodka or a black walnut bitters flavor?! I came out flush with holiday gift ideas. Plenty of unexpected wonders popped up between the aisles and it really got my creative juices flowing. My advice is to take your time. Go without any preconceived notion of what you might buy and for whom. Seek the input of the friendly, helpful staff and you’ll find way more than what you came for. Don’t worry, if you still aren’t feeling creative, Martin’s can always create a custom holiday basket for you.
