Hollywood in New Orleans

Louisiana’s only official Oscar Night America party, Red Cross/Red Carpet presented by ABC 26-TV and CW 38-TV, was held at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino. The evening featured food, fun, cocktails, a silent auction, door prizes and all guests were treated like celebrities for the night! At 6:30 p.m., a patron party and dinner were held at Riche, a Todd English restaurant, while Keith Porteous provided live jazz music. Following dinner, guests headed across the red carpet into Harrah’s theater, where they were greeted by paparazzi and even a Joan Rivers impersonator (Princess Stephaney).

Celebrity guests included Bryan Batt and Merrill Capps, and partygoers predicted the winners on ballots for a chance to win prizes as they sipped cocktails and watched the Oscars on the big screen.

The evening was filled with Hollywood glamour and funds raised at the event will benefit the local Red Cross Chapter – best known for first aid and CPR classes and emergency response during times of disaster; the money will be used to continue to support programs in the local Red Cross chapter, which supports 12 parishes in Louisiana.
