The Woman’s Exchange group threw a lavish party to thank members of the Hermann-Grima and Gallier Historic Houses Society at its fall gala. The society consists of patrons who have donated at least $1,000 to help with the preservation of the two national historic landmarks in the French Quarter.
Chairs Dunbar Amoss, Ellen Coleman and Cynthia Hammond treated guests to a fabulous catered dinner from Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group. The menu included Korean Bulgogi flank steak skewers and seared sea scallops with baby arugula and blood orange gastrique. For dessert, Chef Haley Bitterman made creamsicle nitro ice cream cones.
The sounds of a classical guitar greeted the guests as they arrived at the home of former Ambassador to Finland John G. Weinmann and his wife Virginia.
The money raised through these donations help with preservation and also continuing educational programs and tours for visitors. The two historical homes are also accredited by the American Association of Museums.
