The Audubon Tea Room was filled on April 6 for the Great Lady/ Great Gentleman Awards Luncheon, sponsored by the East Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary. For the 37th year, the group honored volunteer community activists in the New Orleans area.
Ginger Crawford delivered the invocation, while Liz Reyes served as the mistress of ceremonies. Auxiliary President Jean Rice welcomed guests along with Event Chair Ellen Miclette.
Honored this year were Betty Davidson, Fay Doucet, John Duck, Janet Frischhertz, Karen McGoey, Eugene Priestly, Frank Stewart and Polly Thomas. After presenting the honorees, Rubenstein’s presented a fashion show and there was also a silent auction. Violinist Jeena Kim performed for the guests. Preceding the luncheon was a patron party at the Kenner home of Dr. and Mrs. Chuck Cucchiara. The East Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary has been presenting money to the hospital for scholarships and equipment since its inception.
