Hot in the City

Nothing could deny—not the heat, especially—art lovers and partygoers from Julia Street and its surrounding area for “White Linen Night” on Aug. 4. The galleries were packed with people—Arthur Roger even had men manning the door for crowd control—though some people sneaked into them earlier in the day to actually see the art! Cocktails enlivened the nighttime scene that carried over to restaurants such as Emeril’s and Cochon, as well as Tommy’s Wine Bar and the Rusty Nail. Others headed over to the Contemporary Arts Center, which featured Big Sam’s Funky Nation as the entertainment.  It was a brilliant night, where the best of what New Orleans offers—creativity, food, music and fun—really shone.
