NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Kimpton Hotel Fontenot invites friends, neighbors and fans of great music and delicious food and drinks to a special Kimpton Off The Record party on Thursday, June 1. The event also celebrates the full completion of Hotel Fontenot and the opening of King French brasserie and over 12,000 square feet of meeting and events space in the new adaptive reuse expansion of the hotel.
Doors will open for the event at 6:30 p.m., located at King and in the event spaces above at 501 Tchoupitoulas St., with Tank and The Bangas set to perform at 8 p.m. This Grammy-nominated New Orleans-based musical force of nature lives in a space where jazz meets hip-hop, soul meets rock and funk is the beating heart. Opening the show at 7 p.m. will be award-winning contemporary crossover singer Robin Barnes. The “Songbird of New Orleans” is a favorite of the property and resident artist at Hotel Fontenot’s Peacock Room. The evening is part of Kimpton’s annual Off The Record series with immersive and intimate concerts featuring amazing artists bringing people together and giving back to communities. Tickets for this event are $30, and 100% of the proceeds go to benefit The Trevor Project and National Urban League.
The event will also serve as the public debut of Hotel Fontenot’s newest additions. Located on the ground level, King is rooted in the style of beloved brasseries of the French Riviera region, while weaving in rich culinary traditions of New Orleans. Guests of the event will be able to sample the flavors of Executive Chef Samuel Peery’s cuisine and taste cocktail creations that have already earned praise for Peacock Room on the other side of the hotel. Heading up the handmade staircase from King reveals the event spaces where historic personality meets sophisticated design to create unique ballrooms and even a second-floor outdoor terrace overlooking the street that will host weddings, corporate events and everything in between.
