Sally Shushan is Treasurer for the Lafayette Square Conservancy and one of the organization's founding members. Many locals and visitors are familiar with Lafayette Square because of the park's popular Wednesday evening open-air concerts. Sally recalls Lafayette Square's early days following Hurricane Katrina. She explains what needed to be done and describes the tremendous community support in the way of money and volunteers that brought this historic downtown park back to life. Sally tells us about the next big improvements scheduled for Lafayette Square and shares the park's upcoming event schedule.
