The Amazing Grapes Fine Wine Auction and Dinner began with elegant cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Hermann-Grima House on St. Louis Street. Guests then enjoyed a spirited second-line down St. Louis Street to Antoine’s restaurant for the main event of the evening.

Attendees began with hors d’oeuvres and four silent auction boards sponsored by Barriere Construction, Canal Barge, AT&T and The Whitney Bank. Everyone then participated in a live auction sponsored by Pontchartrain Materials and auctioneered by Ruthie Winston. Auction items included works of art by Time Trapolin and Donna Duffy and a Public Belt party for 20, not to mention several fine wines, including one special Cabernet Sauvignon signed by Sean Payton.

This year’s event Wine Sponsor was the Leo Seal Family Foundation.

Guests then enjoyed a fabulous four-course-dinner, complete with Oysters Bonne Femme; Antoine Salad; Broiled Filet of Speckled Trout with Crawfish Cardinal served over an onion, garlic and basil rice; Asparagus with Butter; and Baked Alaska with Chocolate Sauce for dessert.

Wine auction chairs Melissa Steiner and Maury Rendeiro raised more money in this year’s auction than in any other year of Amazing Grapes.
