It’s cold, y’all. And there has been an extreme cold warning issued for this weekend the state of Louisiana. While some places might be closed due to the weather – we wanted to share a few things that keep us warm in the winter, as well as the recipes we’ll be making while we shelter from the cold!

French Onion Soup from La Crepe Nanou is my go-to when it’s chilly outside. – Reine Dugas

Mandina's Restaurant

New Orleans Museum of Art

I like a quiet visit to the New Orleans Museum of Art, along with a journal and pencil to capture my thoughts. It’s a great place to reflect and take in some amazing art. Bonus: Café NOMA has great coffee for morning or early afternoon visits, and cocktails and wine if you are visiting later in the day (as well as sandwiches and pastries).

La Boulangerie

La Boulangerie for brunch. Their soups are amazing and my stepson is obsessed with their curry beef pies. Next, I’d pop in and out of some of my favorite shops on Magazine St. Catch a movie at The Prytania or visit The Ogden with my daughter and finish the day with a cozy meal at Vincent’s or Pascal’s Manale.

The Bean Gallery

Last weekend, my fiancé and I hit up The Bean Gallery, and he got a warm cup of coffee. They also have great food items. We like the Walnut Honey Goat Cheese bagel (not sure of the exact name) and they also have king cake, but I haven’t had it. The vibes are cozy in there.
