Michael Williamson is President and CEO of United Way of Southeast Louisiana. In the aftermath of the recent floods in Louisiana, Michael describes the role United Way of Southeast Louisiana is playing to help people with their day to day needs. He also outlines the organization’s plans to assist in the area’s long term recovery. Michael points out one of the most important aspects of assisting in the recovery: “Really”, he says, “it is about coordination; a lot of people want to help, but to make the most out of everybody’s effort we have to be coordinated.” He goes on to say that “The easiest way to help is to go online and make a gift”. Michael notes that people can also donate items such as cleaning supplies, baby diapers, personal hygiene products, and water, to name a few. Visit this website for a full list of items needed. You can also get information on the website about volunteering, and learn how to make a donation.
