NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Hyatt Centric French Quarter is spreading holiday cheer and celebrating New Orleans’ history all December long by honoring the iconic D.H. Holmes department store – a cornerstone of NOLA’s 19th century social scene – with their month-long event, Holmes for the Holidays.
Holiday Shopping Pop-Ups
- Bringing in the joys of holiday shopping and gathering, HCFQ will host 4-5 local vendors every Saturday and Sunday from 12-6 p.m., including Papier Plume, Slow Down NOLA, Elektra Cosmetics, OMG Candles, Essentially NOLA and more.
- Guests can enjoy complimentary cider and mulled wine from 4-6 p.m., and a complimentary glass of champagne alongside a vendor purchase.
Cocktails that Sleigh
- Festive treats include Parisian Hot Chocolate served with homemade whipped cream and locally baked pastries in the mornings, and a holiday pop up bar with themed cocktails like the Ninja Bread Rum Fashioned, complete with karate-chop-ready gingerbread man cookie, and the Grinch Clarified Grasshopper topped with green cotton candy. New menu items include a Loaded Holiday Sandwich with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy and melted Swiss served on ciabatta.
Family-Friendly Events
- Events for the whole family to enjoy, including a Children’s Puppet Show and a Jazz Christmas Concert. Live music every Saturday afternoon with some of NOLA’s favorites including the Golden Compass Trip featuring special guest Leroy Jones.
