NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The 504 Festival proudly announces the details of the inaugural festival sponsored by a host of local partners. The free festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at NORD’s Rosenwald Park and Recreation center located at 1120 S. Broad St. The first-time festival will feature live music, food vendors, a car and bike show, family workouts, kids zone and a basketball tournament featuring special guests. The free five-hour event will bring together families in the Mid City community to enjoy a day of fun for a good cause.
Lyisha Allen, founder of Prom 4 NOLA, and Alton Alexis, owner of The Bundle Gang Hair Company, created the festival to directly support the local non-profit organization aimed at providing opportunities for New Orleans’ youth to learn about teamwork, respect and improve self-esteem through teaching discipline and leadership skills. Every year the organization will give more than 30 Orleans Parish high school seniors an all expense paid senior prom experience. Nominations for young men and women deserving of receiving the ultimate prom experience including formalwear, hair and makeup are now being accepted at www.prom4nola.com.
