How did you get into Interior Design?
I was born and raised in Argentina, and from an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue design. Architecture was the most practical path, so I graduated from the National University of Cordoba. After moving to America, I found an opportunity to reinvent myself in a way that felt truer to who I am and focus on my real passion: interior design.
What are your design inspirations?
I think one of the advantages of not growing up in the U.S. is that I’m not tied to any one traditional style. My inspiration comes from a variety of sources—food, music, travel—but most importantly, from the unique lives and stories of my clients.
You do incredible design work specifically for Mothers. What is the basis of that design aesthetic?
My experience as a mother allows me to guide other families in making practical, informed decisions—whether it’s choosing a stain-resistant couch, creating more functional storage, or incorporating thoughtful decor like a basket of blankets that becomes the new favorite accessory for family movie nights.
How do you build a relationship with a new client?
I always begin by talking with the potential client. We share inspiration, images, and overall aspirations for the space. One client, for example, hired me to redesign his bachelor pad into an inviting space for his blended family to move into. Well, he just got married in his newly designed home with his kids and stepchildren by his side. That kind of meaningful transformation only happens when the designer and client are truly aligned.
What would you like clients to know before coming to you?
All creative work is built on a foundation of trust. My goal at Val Spaces is to collaborate closely with our clients to create spaces that leave a lasting positive impression because we truly believe every space deserves to be amazing.
