Into the Starry Night

With the events stretching nearly a week, the March of Dimes’ Spotlight on Success party was indeed a huge success. The “Starry Night” themed celebration was emceed by local favorites Roop Raj and Camille Whitworth of WDSU, who introduced the real stars of the night: The 26 outstanding single professionals in the Greater New Orleans area. At the patron-only party held Saturday, July 14, guests enjoyed a complimentary cocktail bar and swank buffet in the Le Bon Temp Hall of Michaul’s, all the while dancing to the tunes of a live band.

The party continued on Friday, June 20, when the doors of Generations Hall opened at 8 p.m. to more than 900 guests in their best cocktail attire. Event co-chairs Patricia Basselman and Bryan Musso welcomes patrons and the evening’s honorees, including Renaissance Publishing’s own Advertising Executive Aimee Arceneaux.

Guests delighted in the night of revelry that included a cocktail hour and music by the Bucktown All-Stars. The highlight of the night’s entertainment, however, came from the lavish buffet provided by some of the city’s most standout restaurants and chefs. Patrons certainly had their fill, with food from Acme Oyster House, Rock-N-Sake, Figaro’s, The Flaming Torch and the Court of Two Sisters all making appearances on everyone’s plates. The events raised nearly $100,000 to benefit the non-profit, which works diligently to find the causes of premature birth, which affects one in 8 babies each year.
