Linda Prout is an ambassador for the Little Free Library. Little Free Library is a free book exchange that originated in Wisconsin to promote literacy and encourage a sense of community. In neighborhoods throughout New Orleans, you might have seen some of these wonderful little houses with books inside and wondered what they are. The mini-houses are set on posts in front yards throughout the city; each has a distinctive look. Linda was the first person in New Orleans to have a Little Free Library and has acted as an ambassador to help others get their own Little Free Library houses. Linda explains how she became interested in the Little Free Library and describes what steps other cities in Louisiana are taking to promote this interesting movement that encourages everyone to share and enjoy books.
