NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Al Copeland Foundation (ACF) will celebrate National Fried Chicken Day by hosting the 4th Annual Chicken Jam at the UNO Lakefront Arena. This family-fun event features Copeland’s Chicken, as well as entertainment by local bands, including Me & My Friends, Bag of Donuts, and Superstar, and face painting, inflatables, a photobooth and more for the kids.
“We wanted to create an event that is fun for the family while honoring Al Copeland Sr.’s legacy,” states Kathleen Thomas.
Copeland’s Chicken, red beans & rice, mac & cheese, and biscuits will be available for purchase. Port Orleans Brewing Company will be on site with a special Chicken Jam beer, and Tito’s Vodka will serve a specialty cocktail. Wine and non-alcoholic drinks will be available as well. General Admission tickets are just $15. Two VIP ticket options are also offered. The Chicken Jam VIP Floor Ticket provides admission to the VIP bar on the event floor and Copeland’s fried chicken, biscuits and sides from the food tent on the event floor. The Chicken Jam Rockstar VIP ticket ($100) allows admission to the Tito’s VIP Rockstar pre-party from 1PM – 3PM in the Spotlights Lounge and includes open bar and all you can eat Copeland’s Catering, as well as admission to the event floor VIP area.

Al Copeland had a fervor for living life to the fullest and was an inspiration to many. After losing his life to Merkel Cell Carcinoma, the Al Copeland Foundation (ACF) was established by his children to carry on their dad’s wish to cure cancer “Our journey began with our founder’s dying wish to find a cure for cancer, we delivered this promise to my dad by saving three lives”, says Al Copeland Jr., Chairman of the Board and CEO of Al Copeland Investments.. Proceeds from the annual Chicken Jam support the Al Copeland Foundation. To date, ACF has provided more than $1.9 million in critical funding to LSU Health Foundation in support of cancer research.
