Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk To Open For The Rolling Stones In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Rolling Stones are excited to announce Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk with special guest The Soul Rebels will join the North American ‘No Filter’ tour as guest artists in New Orleans on Sunday, July 14 at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. For tickets and information, please visit www.rollingstones.com.

Dumpstaphunk, from New Orleans, stands out as one of the funkiest bands to ever arise from the Crescent City.  Born on the Jazz & Heritage Festival stage and kin to both The Meters and The Neville Brothers, Dumpstaphunk’s performances combine complex funk and muscular rock arrangements with a lethal combination of 3 unique vocalists and 2 bass players.  Founding member Ivan Neville’s deep connection to The Rolling Stones includes his role behind the keys with Keith Richards X-pensive Winos, in addition to an appearance on The Rolling Stones classic “Voodoo Lounge” LP.

In Dumpsta, Ivan lights up the Hammond B3, accompanied by dueling baselines and vocal prowess from Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III, who set off one of the dirtiest rhythm sections on the planet!  Ian Neville (son of Meters and Neville Bros founding father Art “Poppa Funk” Neville) lends his rhythmic funk drenched guitar approach sending the Nola groove into overdrive.  On Thursday, May 2, Dumpstaphunk was selected to appear on the main stage of the 50th anniversary of Jazzfest in New Orleans. The Rolling Stones will make stops in 15 cities across the US and Canada. The tour follows last year’s NO FILTER dates that have taken Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood back out on the road amassing rave reviews as they played to sold out stadiums throughout the UK and Europe.
