Jack Pruitt and the New Orleans Antiques Forum

Jack Pruitt is the director of development and external affairs for The Historic New Orleans Collection. One of Pruitt's responsibilities is running the annual New Orleans Antiques Forum. According to Pruitt, the first Forum began in 2008. In today's podcast, he explains the purpose of the Forum and describes what the four-day event entails. Over the years, the popular Forum has grown in size and scope, attracting participants from all over the country. Recently, the Louisiana Office of Tourism awarded a grant to the Forum for its contributions to tourism in Louisiana. The Forum theme for 2013 is "Opulence and Intrigue: Exoticism in the 19th Century." Pruitt shares the list of speakers and touches on a few of the topics they will discuss. This year's Forum is from August 1-4, 2013, at the Williams Research Center in the French Quarter.
