NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Just in time for the holiday season, Jack Rose – the bustling eatery located inside the Pontchartrain Hotel – has announced a limited series of festive Friday Lunches available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Dec. 3, 10, and 17.
For this series, Chef/Owner Brian Landry and Executive Chef David Whitmore, have created a menu featuring an array of sumptuous signature dishes that have earned Jack Rose raves from locals and visitors alike. Small plates include saffron orecchiette with butternut squash, walnut pesto and coconut; grilled octopus with spiced farro, purple sweet potatoes and chili oil; and duck & andouille gumbo with popcorn rice. Shareables include pork belly with white beans, fennel, turnips and salsa verde; Royal Red shrimp & corn; roasted beet salad, and cracked potatoes. Large plates include fettucine nero with scallops, wild mushrooms, vermouth cream and parmesan; poisson en papillote with crab boil butter, fingerling potatoes and charred corn; and Jack Rose’s famed fried chicken parmesan.
In addition to the lunch menu, Jack Rose will offer a selection of a la carte pairings including confit potato with crème fraiche and caviar (Saint Chamant Brut Rose Champagne), Murder Point oysters with yuzu mignonette and red dulce seaweed (J. Lassale Preference Brut 1er Cru); and red snapper with roasted celery root, fennel and Louisiana citrus (Robert Moncuit “Blanc de Blancs” Grand Cru).
