NE WORLEANS (press release) – On Friday, Sept. 15, Pontchartrain Conservancy is excited to offer community members the opportunity to attend a free showing of JAWS at the New Canal Lighthouse located at 8001 Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans as part of NORD’s fall Movie in the Park series. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.
“When we saw JAWS on the list of movies that we could choose from, it was a no brainer,” said Kristi Trail, executive director of Pontchartrain Conservancy. “We just couldn’t resist the opportunity to invite everyone out to watch a shark thriller right next to our Lighthouse!”
Community members are invited to come out to the Lighthouse to enjoy the movie and learn more about the creatures that can be found in Lake Pontchartrain. In addition to educational resources, Pontchartrain Conservancy will be offering snack and beverage options for sale, including beer. Admission is free, but limited to the first 250 attendees.
As a reminder to parents, JAWS, a cinema classic, is rated PG. Parents are encouraged to be mindful of the violence in the film, but are welcome to bring children under their supervision.
