Dana LeBlanc, MD, is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. In this podcast, Dr. LeBlanc highlights the hospital’s upcoming fundraiser – the 9th Annual Jazz Half Marathon and 5K Run that will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28. As participants run through the scenic Garden District and Uptown, Mardi Gras Indians in colorful costumes along the route will add an indelible New Orleans stamp to the popular event. The festivities will continue at the after-race party. There, runners will enjoy bountiful New Orleans food and music, with Amanda Shaw headlining the celebration and the Mardi Gras Indians on hand for photographs. The fundraiser will directly benefit pediatric oncology and hematology patients during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. For over four decades, Children’s Hospital has provided full-service health care for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South, from birth to 21 years of age.
