Crime-fighting locals convened at Gallier Hall on November 4 in celebration of the 30th Anniversary Party, “Crimestoppers Carnivale.”
Clad in 1920s and ’30s vintage attire, partygoers fully embraced the soirée’s “Jazzin in the Moonshine” theme. The party’s entertainment and jovial atmosphere alone almost made it a crime to miss out on the spectacular evening of merriment.
A patron party kicked off the festivities with entertainment by Casual Baby and delectable delights from Café Hope, Café Reconcile and Liberty’s Kitchen. The speakeasy enthusiasts then made quite the entrance onto the main floor in New Orleans style with a second-line. Over 37 restaurants, ranging from Brennan’s to Galatoire’s to Venezia, served culinary bites at the main event, while Philip Manuel and Bon Operatit! provided guests with rhythms perfect for swingin’ around the dance floor throughout the night.
Attendees had the opportunity to contribute to the evening’s success by bidding on auction items, including a private party for 75 at Pat O’Briens, a cruise for eight on Lake Pontchartrain with wine and cheese and a one week-stay in a two-bedroom beach house in Destin, Fla.
Proceeds raised benefit Crimestoppers, whose primary goal is to provide a medium for citizens to aid law enforcement in fighting crime and detaining criminals.
