Jefferson Beautification is “Going Back to the 50s” for Annual Fundraiser

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Sunday, March 24, the Jefferson Beautification Parkway Promenade will be Swinging to the Sounds and Sights of the ’50s.  This annual fundraiser will be held at Chateau Country Club with a fun-filled DJ pushing out the nostalgic music of Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and many more.

The men and women will be dressed in their greaser t-shirts and polka dotted poodle skirts while doing the Twist, the Swim, and the Jitterbug.  All in the name of Making Jefferson Parish more Beautiful

Since the 1990’s, Jefferson Beautification has completed projects totaling over $3 million.  They have erected park benches, designed labyrinths, planned Greek muse statues, beautified entrance ways to subdivisions and towns, constructed tree- filled walkways, built butterfly gardens and agrarian gardens, promoted the Bucktown Boardwalk and initiated a litter abatement program.  They have worked with government entities, schools, civic associations, parks and recreation, hospitals, and business parks.

Joy Shane, CEO for Jefferson Beautification said, “The Parkway Promenade is our annual fundraiser; a time to enjoy ourselves while raising funds for all the beautification projects we work on throughout Jefferson Parish.  I think this year’s ‘Back to the 50’s’ will be one of our most exciting.”
