Getting a jump on the American 250 celebrations on March 29, Jefferson Beautification themed its Parkway Promenade XXXIV as its “Happy Birthday America Gala!”
And, of course, red, white and blue was seen all over — from supporters to decor, giving Chateau Golf and Country Club a patriotic vibe.
Three statutes depicting a Bald Eagle, combat solider and the Statue of Liberty added even more to the milieu, as did a presentation of the American flag by the Kenner Police Honor Guard followed by the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
More musical notes were provided by the Benchwarmers, and a silent auction, Parade of Prizes and Tree of Treasures gave paterygoers more reasons to support this organization that provides funding for tree planting and beautification on public green spaces in Jefferson Parish, as well as promote tree planting and beautification through education and public awareness.
The gala chair was Sandy Stubbs, the gala was presented by Metairie Bank.
Fun Fact: A birthday cake was decorated with the American flag, the Bald Eagle, the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. Constitution, and attendees sang “Happy Birthday” to America when the cake was presented.
