How did you start Peony?
I and my business partner and friend, Cricket Lapeyre, started our children’s line Peony two years ago. We saw a gap in the market for heirloom-quality clothing, based on our mothers’ and grandmothers’ patterns, hand-sewed with a modern simplicity.
This year after traveling in Europe, we decided to open a concept store with art and travel as our muse.
What’s the response been like?
Amazing! We have multiple generations of clients. We have clothing and gifts for babies to grandmothers. It’s been a real joy seeing local families come in and also meeting so many tourists from all over the world.
What’s unique about the store?
It is a magical place. We have things you can’t find elsewhere, and we want everyone to enjoy their visit. You can even text me on your way home and we can wrap, charge and run your purchase out to your car!
What are you favorite things in the store right now?
Jewelry by Deepa Guenani, Kork-ease Shoes and fur for everyone.
What are you most excited about in the store?
I really like how the store evolves, with things changing daily. We love the fact that locals and tourists feel comfortable stopping by and staying for a glass of champagne if they have time. We are very lucky to be part of this fabulous city.
