Just What the Doctor Ordered

A sunny day greeted partygoers on the afternoon of Oct. 4, when Ochsner Hospital hosted “Double Shot for Tots” at its Pediatrics Center on Jefferson Highway. This fund-raiser supports a variety of programs for
the hospital’s pediatric department, including training for residents
and fellows in the pediatric program, and purchasing teaching dolls
used to educate young patients and their classmates. In addition, educational programs and advances in the care of autistic children will be funded by the proceeds from the soirée.

Co-chairs were Anne Charbonnet Goliwas and Sarah Freeman Carey, who both feel passionately that the city and state can benefit from public awareness about the benefits of Ochsner, which is a full-service, multi-specialty group of physicians.

The party’s food and drink were provided by Brennan’s, Palace Café, Gulfstream, Savvy Gourmet, Raising Cane’s, Abita Beer, Five Happiness, Domino’s and Naturally Happy Products. There was entertainment for the children, and the silent auction was a major success, offering such sought-after items such as diamond and gold earrings from Friend & Co., handmade chairs, airline tickets and gift certificates to local restaurants and hotels.
