Keep Louisiana Beautiful, New Orleans & Company Call New Orleanians to Love the Boot

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) is partnering with New Orleans & Company to encourage New Orleans residents and businesses to clean up and beautify their community during Love the Boot Week, April 5-13.

“Residents and visitors love the City of New Orleans for its unique food, music, and culture,” said Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser in a release. “What we don’t like to see is litter. Litter steals our shine, and we need to do everything we can to stop it from happening. Thank you to New Orleans & Company for stepping up to Love the Boot.”

“Our multiple sustainability initiatives like Recycle Dat and this partnership with Keep Louisiana Beautiful come at a time when travelers from around the globe continue to prioritize sustainable practices when making their travel decisions,” said Walt Leger III, president & CEO of New Orleans & Company. “It is important for residents and the hospitality industry to prioritize city cleanliness as we continue to hold meetings, conventions, and large-scale events in New Orleans. Partnerships like this help New Orleans continue to be a great place to live, work, visit and invest.”

New Orleans & Company’s sponsorship supports KLB in sending supplies to the first 600 groups to register for Love the Boot Week. Supplies include volunteer t-shirts, gloves, and trash bags.

In addition to sponsoring Love the Boot Week, New Orleans & Company will host a cleanup along St. Charles Avenue Wednesday, April 9, from 3-5 p.m. They will also be encouraging all of their partners in New Orleans to sign up for Love the Boot Week.

During Love the Boot Week 2024, 19,441 individuals volunteered a total of 100,712 hours at 760 events in all 64 parishes, leading to the removal of 347 tons of litter. In addition to litter removal, volunteers focused on community beautification, planting 921 trees and 4,408 plants, and refurbishing 366 gardens. An even greater impact is expected in 2025.

Everyone in every parish is invited to register a cleanup or beautification event and/or sign-up to volunteer for Love the Boot Week at www.lovetheboot.org.
