On October 20, the Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure Kickoff Gala combined high fashion with fundraising. The gala offered cuisine, an array of beverages and New Orleans-style entertainment at a stylish evening celebration of charity that was led by co-chairs Bryan Batt, Margo DuBos, Dana Hansel and Juli Miller Hart. Participating restaurants and catering sponsors included New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Company, Barbara Baggert Creations, Maple Street Patisserie and Brocato’s, among others.

Over the course of the weekend, shoppers flocked to Saks to shop till they dropped, knowing that two percent of the proceeds from their purchases would benefit the cancer research programs of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium, a research partnership between LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, Tulane University, Xavier University and Ochsner Health System. The Key to the Cure is a nationwide event that takes place every year, drawing numerous celebrity and other high-profile supporters, raising millions of dollars for cancer research.
