NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Thanks to some early supporters, KID smART is well on its way towards its $10,000 goal. When you give to KID smART this year, your impact will DOUBLE thanks to a generous match from The Holt Family Foundation. Thousands of students and educators will be able to engage in JOYFUL learning experiences because of YOU.

To celebrate the fundraising, KID smART is throwing ART JAM. ART JAM is KID smART’s FREE community celebration of all things art and education. Join on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for hands-on activities, live performances, and arts-based workshops outdoors at 2541 Bayou Road. Be sure to stop by our neighbors at Pagoda Cafe before you arrive to fuel up on coffee and treats – 20% of their sales will benefit KID smART. All ages welcome!
Children will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in workshops that range in topics from origami, sewing, and even beginner coding. ART JAM activities will be led by KID smART teaching artists as well as Ochsner, New Orleans Public Library, Community Book Center, Electric Girls, New Orleans Museum of Art, Art Camp 504, and more! Each activity highlights how arts-based instruction can advance academic learning—a hallmark of our organizational mission. In addition, there will be musical performances by KID smART students from ISL Westbank, Preservation Hall & The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and a raffle, including prizes from local vendors.
