NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Tickets are on sale for Krewe de Lune’s annual charity event, Lunar Lagniappe: A Benefit for STAR (Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response). The pool party and fundraiser will take place at The Drifter Hotel (3522 Tulane Ave.) on Thursday, May 16 from 6-10 p.m, benefiting the important New Orleans and Baton Rouge-based organization that provides advocacy and counseling for survivors of sexual assault and harassment.
The krewe will showcase hot tunes from musical guest hollagraham and a dance performance from their very own Star-Steppin’ Cosmonaughties. Thanks to a generous donation from Celebration Distillation/Old New Orleans Rum, all proceeds of the signature Gris Gris Daiquiri will go to support STAR, in addition to all funds that are raised through the silent auction, ticket sales and the raffle. There will also be a costume pop-up shop thanks to Lady Ginger Licious, a glitter bar with samples from Elektra Cosmetics, and a raffle for a chance to win an intergalactic mural that was painted live at the krewe’s annual Mardi Gras soiree, the Space Ball.
