NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Krewe of BOO! will host its third annual Halfway to Halloween Dance-Off, Fueled by Monster Energy Drink, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at Spanish Plaza.
Featuring particpants from many of New Orleans’ most well-known dance krewes, the free outdoor event will include celebrity judges, live DJ music, giveaways and family entertainment.
“The Halfway to Halloween Dance-Off lets the public see many of the region’s dance and marching groups perform together, and we think it’s a great event to get a taste of the creativity and sense of fun and community that is a part of every troupe,” said Brian Kern, chief spookster for the Krewe of BOO! parade and event founder.

All activities will take place in Spanish Plaza, 2 Canal St., at The Riverwalk in the New Orleans Arts District.

The Dance-Off was conceived by Kern, whose aim is to make New Orleans a “premier destination on Planet Earth for Halloween.”
Krewe of BOO! to add new event in June
The Krewe of BOO! will also host the inaugural Axeman’s Ball on Saturday, June 4 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at The Republic NOLA, 828 S. Peters St.
The jazz era-themed event will feature a live performance by Naughty Professor. Attendees are encouraged to wear Prohibition Era-style costumes.
