Economic uncertainty is when credit unions matter most. Firemen’s Federal focuses on understanding each member’s unique situation and helping them find practical solutions that strengthen their financial future. For Judy DeLucca, President and CEO of New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union (NOFFCU), whether it’s through reducing debt, improving credit, building savings, or achieving homeownership, the goal is to help members move from financial stress to financial confidence
“One of our biggest priorities is creating a lifelong pathway of membership,” says DeLucca. “We want to be there from the day a child opens a youth savings account through the teenage years, college, purchasing a first vehicle, buying a home, raising a family, and planning for retirement. Our goal is to ensure our members never outgrow their credit union because we’re growing alongside them.”
As a member-owned institution, every decision by the team at NOFFCU is a simple one: What’s in the best interest of their members? That philosophy has guided DeLucca through her career; by measuring success in terms of lives helped and improved, NOFFCU is able to fulfill its purpose of being an institution of “people helping people.”
“I’ve always believed that a community credit union has a responsibility not only to help individuals succeed financially but to strengthen the communities it serves,” says DeLucca. “When our employees love where they work, they provide exceptional service. When our members trust us with their financial lives, families become stronger, businesses grow, and communities thrive. To me, that’s the true measure of success, and it’s why I’m so proud to lead Firemen’s Federal.”
