NEW ORLEANS (press release) – LadyBEAST Productions announces a brand new show called “Vaudeville Revival” live at the Joy Theater for one night only!
LadyBEAST Productions is bridging the gap between old world acts, for our modern day audiences. Creating a production with an incredible Vaudevillian Ensemble drawing from the storied vaudeville history and acts! Inspired by powerful performances that still echo through media and time, Vaudeville Revival will be adapting Vaudeville musical and performance tropes, merging traditional and contemporary musicality, movement, and entertainment!
Vaudeville was America’s most important entertainment from the 1890s through the first World War, at its height including thousands of theaters, with New Orleans as one of its hubs. With entertainment & media still being influenced today by this era of entertainment and performance, our Vaudevillians will be drawing inspirations from such classic Vaudeville artists as Nita & Zita, Barbette, Bilbo Jangles Robinson, & Charlie Chaplin, many of whom frequented the stages of those storied New Orleans vaudeville theaters. LadyBEAST productions is an internationally acclaimed company of artists from around the world. Vaudeville Revival will bring artists to New Orleans to display the vast rapport of Vaudeville historic acts. We will be featuring Helen Wonjila! Helen is from Ethiopia and trained in FOOT JUGGLING in China.
Live at the Joy Theater for one night only, on May 26, this is a show you will not want to miss, promising an evening of dazzling curated entertainment.
